Simon Cowell Joined the Wiggles for an Uber Eats Ad and We’re Confused

They’re referring to him as the ‘Grey Wiggle.’

Just when we all got over the image of Kim Kardashian and Magda Szubanski debating the pronunciation of "noice" and Kim ordering the legendary "chicken schnitty", Uber Eats have decided to throw us another curveball with their latest ad.

This time around, the food delivery service has put our childhood faves, The Wiggles, and music critic Simon Cowell together for just about the strangest food ad I’ve seen to date.

In the ad, Simon appears to also be dressed as the fifth Wiggle, only he’s wearing a grey shirt and is referred to by the rest of the gang as the ‘Grey Wiggle’ (not exactly a stretch from his personality, tbh).

The lovable, bubbly Wiggles can be seen singing about what they want to eat for dins, only for Simon to interrupt by stating that he’s already eaten, and that their song has made him “hate music” (wow rude).

It’s no Wiggles performing Tame Impala’s "Elephant" on triple j’s Like A Version, but it is something.

This is just one of the five Uber Eats ads The Wiggles and Simon are set to star in, so I can only imagine what the others are going to look like.

While I reckon the joke is meant to be that Simon is usually a party pooper, I just can’t help but imagine how excited he was to put on that Wiggles uniform.

My main question is: how much did this ad set Uber Eats back? As we all know, Uber Eats probably spent somewhere around US$2 million just on our lady Kim, so what was Simon’s asking price? Not that Uber Eats couldn’t afford it.

Brb: I’m gonna order some food now.

If this ad has also made you hungry, you're in luck 'cos Uber Eats is now offering Student Edge members $12 off your first order (fees apply!).

Student Edge recommends maintaining a well-balanced diet. For more information, please visit www.heartfoundation.org.au.
