Say Goodbye to "Star Wars" and Marvel on Netflix 'Cause Disney Is Taking Them Back

Disney is launching their own streaming service in 2019.

Disney announced last month they would be launching their own streaming service in two years, so we all knew it would mean pulling their iconic animated Disney movies from streaming services such as Netflix.

But now, Disney's CEO, Bob Iger, has delivered another blow: They'll be pulling the Star Wars series and Marvel movies as well.

I mean, we should've seen it coming really, but we wonder where that leaves the Netflix original Marvel series, The Defenders, and by extension, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist.

There was no specific mention of those series, but our educated guess is that they'll likely have to stay on given they're produced by Netflix.

The new Disney streaming service sounds pretty impressive and is sure to test some loyalties if and when it gets released in Australia. Iger said Disney planned to release about four-to-five movie titles per year with an equal amount of television series and even television movies (not entirely sure how those are different from direct-to-streaming movies, but we'll take it).

So, make sure you binge-watch all that Disney content ASAP because, while they haven't announced when it's likely to be pulled, its days on Netflix are numbered.

Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, it's back to the dusty DVD and video collection, we go.
