The Szechuan Sauce Saga Continues: "Rick and Morty" Fan Trades Actual Car for Sauce

Real question: Is this even funny anymore?

A super fan in Michigan has traded a real-life car for a packet of the much-coveted Szechuan sauce that has been making waves since Rick and Morty's Season Three debuted back in April.

Business Insider revealed that Rachel Marie was one of the lucky few to get her hands on the sauce during the McDonald's promotion this week so she decided to use it to barter for something better.

She posted it on a Facebook jewellery trading group where some made some pretty interesting offers. The most interesting: an actual car.

Marie obviously jumped on this and managed to score herself a Volkswagon for trading her (FREE!) sachet of McDonald's Szechuan sauce. Now, that's a good business deal.

Creators of Rick and Morty, Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland, have spoken out about the whole Szechuan drama and the lengths that fans are going to get their hands on some.

"Be kind to each other. Do good stuff. Do good things," Roiland pleaded on Twitter while Harmon, who is no stranger to roasting the cretinous part of the fandom, was critical of McDonald's' sauce fail the other day, which left some Maccas employees abused by fan mobs.

In the name of hard-hitting pop journalism, we've covered nearly every ridiculous story about this saucy fandom. But, it's now gotten to the point that not seeing a story about how Szechuan sauce sachets are selling for thousands of dollars on eBay is unusual.

Is this what happens in our version of the universe? Is Earth C-137 compromised forever?

All I can hope is that these crazed fans can afford these insane debts they've gotten themselves in. And that the Szechuan sauce is as amazing as Rick has convinced us it is.
