Olivia Rodrigo Fans Are Being Left Devo After the Singer Released Super Dodgy Merch

“Suor?”
Queen Olivia Rodrigo is undoubtedly the biggest teenage pop star of 2021. With her rise to fame thanks to her single “Driver’s License” in 2020, and the release of her super angsty album SOUR this year—she’s captured the hearts of Gen Z all over the world.
Despite her singles and debut album being a huge success, it appears that her latest venture in merch has kind of uh… flopped.
On her store you can find SOUR-themed necklaces, bracelets and earrings as well as crop tops, shirts and jumpers, all catering to that super Y2K vibe that is popping off among Gen Z right now.
Since releasing the album-themed merchandise a few weeks ago, fans and customers have flocked to social media to share how different the actual product is compared to the pics online.
So my friend got #OliviaRodrigo merch and one of them say “sur” instead of sour😭😭 like HELP WTF she waited 2 months for a bracelet that said “sur”😭💀 pic.twitter.com/F2v2lg5Ns5

Some customers have even revealed some baffling spelling errors, wildly unflattering and long ‘crop tops’ as well as colours being completely off.
In particular, the ‘crop tops’ being advertised on Olivia’s website are getting a good ol’ roast on TikTok for being less of a crop top and more of a dress.
Very much ‘expectation vs reality’ vibes.
On top of the awful quality, a lot of fans were explaining that they’d waited several months for their products, which just makes the situation so much worse.
According to some fans on Twitter, it looks like Olivia has partnered with the same manufacturer as Twenty One Pilots, who also got called out in the past for releasing some pretty awful merch.
MYSTERY SOLVED: twenty one pilots and Olivia Rodrigo do, in fact, share a merchandise manufacturer and all the merch issues both fanbases have experienced are because Gnarlywood apparently fucking sucks. pic.twitter.com/nEb9HAxVnk

So much lol. Lots of merch coming in entirety different colors than promoted, other merch looking entirely different (see attached pics of my friend’s bag), merch taking months and months or never coming. If you google Olivia Rodrigo merch you’ll see articles on hers too pic.twitter.com/MnaNTLNfmM

At the time of writing, it still doesn’t look like Olivia or her merch team have addressed the issue. In fact, the items that are the most often in question are now nowhere to be found on the website.
While it sucks that so many customers are receiving less than ideal products for a kinda high price point, the memes created by these disheartened customers are top-tier content.

For me, it’s the many ways they have gone about spelling the word ‘sour’.
If you received any of Olivia’s merch and it wasn’t what you were hoping for, follow the returns policy and directions on Olivia’s website.
