Maxibon Has Teamed Up With “Rick & Morty” to Release a Pickle Rick Ice Cream

It low-key looks radioactive.

In some weird news, Peter’s Ice Cream Brand Maxibon (an Aussie cult classic) has just announced that they’ve partnered with Rick & Morty to bring fans a Pickle Rick themed ice cream sandwich.

Now, I know what you’re thinking: will it taste like... pickles? Well, I'm pleased to report that the ice cream is not pickle flavoured (thank god). Instead, it’s an ode to the classic mint flavoured ice cream, just with a tonne of green colouring.

While the ice cream sandwich is meant to reference Pickle Rick, I can’t help but get major Shrek vibes from this dessert. It’s honestly low-key scary to look at.

In all seriousness, even if you aren’t a fan of toothpaste flavoured ice cream, this does sound kinda good.

The limited-edition sandwich has the iconic Maxibon choc bickie with a mint ice cream slab in the centre. Plus, the whole thing is covered in mint crisps, with one half dipped in green coloured white chocolate and cookie crumbs.

But why the need for such a terrifying themed ice cream? Well, according to Maxibon, big fans of the frozen dessert have been begging for a mint flavoured version. In fact, they reckon it’s their most requested flavour (yeah that’s believable).

“We heard the calls for a mint upgrade and we know there was no better way to launch our most requested flavour than with Pickle Rick. As pop culture icons and the world’s biggest ice-cream lovers, we knew Rick and Morty would authentically bring our exclusive mint flavour to life,” Carla Spadafora, Marketing Manager at Peters said in a statement.

'Cos a mint flavoured version was on their radar, it only made sense to pair the green dessert machine with the upcoming fifth season of Rick & Morty, which is slated for release on 20 June (stay tuned on how to watch it in Australia here).

You can pick up one of these limited-edition bad bois from 7-Eleven stores in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, and Western Australia rn. As for South Australia, you can get a taste from OTR stores in July.
