If You See Kanye West Trying to Teach at Your School, Don’t Let Him

He’s threatening to do it.

Kanye West may have his doctorate, but the man is not yet trained to mould young minds at school.

That didn’t stop him from asserting on Twitter, earlier this week, that he will teach a course at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) and the American Academy of Art.

In fact, we’ll let the man say it himself:

West indeed has an honorary doctorate in Fine Arts from SAIC, though he, pretty famously, initially dropped out of college on the first go around. And though he has been known to manifest most of his Twitter dreams into a reality, his desire to swap sick beats for an arts syllabus has hit a road block.

A spokesperson for SAIC told the Chicago Tribune, in a statement, they’re "flattered that Mr. West would have an interest in teaching emerging artists and designers", but reiterated he "is not currently teaching at SAIC, and at this time, there are no plans for him to do so."

Kanye hasn’t responded to SAIC’s snub, but given some of his more recent Tweets, we have a feeling how he’ll take it:

Then again, for all his incredible, mind-melting musical talents, perhaps it’s for the best that he not get into the game of designing coursework and grading papers.
