Kanye West Is A Doctor Now

Now you really can’t tell him nothing.

Despite being one of history’s most famous college dropouts, rapper/visionary/quote-generator Kanye West has received an honourary doctorate from the School of the Art Institute in Chicago.

Given this writer’s adoring love of Kanye West’s musical and artistic output, to the point where I can no longer see reason or cast any kind of critical eye over his work, I can only say, this is years too late.

West accepted his advanced degree – for “transformative, genre-defying work” - on Monday and also delivered the commencement speech at SAIC’s graduation ceremony.

“This honor is going to make your lives easier,” he said.

“You don’t have to defend me as much!”

Kanye first attended Chicago’s American Academy of Art for a semester on a partial scholarship. He then transferred to Chicago State University, again, for a semester. He dropped out to pursue rapping and music production. He has done very well for himself.
