Here’s What “Raw” Gameplay from "NBA 2K21" Next Gen Looks Like

It's Zion like you've never seen him.

We’ve already salivated over the high-res sweat of NBA 2K21 on the next-gen of gaming platforms, but a new video of gameplay with developer commentary shows us what we’re really in for.

Visual Concepts executive producer Erick Boenisch and gameplay director Mike Wang sat down to play an exhibition match between the (no longer injury plagued) Golden State Warriors and the New Orleans Pelicans on 2K21, to demonstrate how exactly the game runs on the PS5 and Xbox Series X.

For those who’ve been playing 2K21 since it was released on PS4, Xbox One and PC last month, the differences will be immediately clear. First, the loading time is nearly non-existent. Second, the definition of the players (not to mention the coaches, staff, presenters and audience) is unreal—or rather, super real. But third, and significantly, as Wang points out, they’ve implemented the near-floor camera angle that was used in the NBA’s actual Orlando bubble, putting us even closer to the action than before.

They’ve also reinstated the 'green flash' when you perfect a shot; an issue that enraged long-time players when 2K tinkered with the shooting function for 2K21 (yet again).

The rest is self-explanatory. And yet, it really does have to be seen to be believed. So, see and believe below!

NBA 2K21 will be available on November 10 for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S globally, November 12 for PlayStation 5 in the US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea, and November 19 for PlayStation 5 in all other regions.

NBA 2K21 is now available on PS4 and Xbox One. (Affiliate disclosure: Student Edge may earn a commission if you click that link and buy a product from our partner's page.)
