Here’s How to Do Dribble Moves in "NBA 2K21" (Including Crossovers and Spins)

We don’t think you can handle this.

Yes, yes, we know you purchased NBA 2K21 to posterise the teeny tiny Houston Rockets, but there’s another part of the game that’s just as fun: dribbling!

Okay hear us out. If you don’t know how to dribble, you’re gonna get outplayed by everyone from Kyrie Irving to Doris Burke, if she was indeed a playable character (and who deserves your respect: she can move up the court in heels).

As introduced in NBA 2K20, there are more Signature Dribble Styles, which you can put into action by flicking the right thumbstick while dribbling or facing off against a defender.

More important than even those are your tried and tested classics, from crossovers to hard stops to the not-helpful-but-very-awesome behind-the-back.

Moves to Memorise

Crossover: You don't have to play as Allen Iverson to pull this off (case in point: in 2K University they made me attempt it with Patrick Beverley above). Move the right thumbstick and then quickly release when dribbling with the right hand.

Momentum Crossover: Same as a regular Crossover, but you’ll want to be sprinting with R2 on the PlayStation 4 or RT on the Xbox One at the same time.

Between Legs Cross: Want to be a bit speccy? Move the right thumbstick down to the left and then quickly release when dribbling with right hand.

Momentum Between Legs Cross: This may shock you, but do the same as the above while sprinting with R2/RT.

Behind the Back: Okay, now you’re just showing off… and we like it! Move the right thumbstick down and then quickly release when dribbling with right hand.

Hard Stop / Stutter: Tap L2 on the PlayStation 4 or LT on Xbox One while driving for a quick change of speed to break a defender off and set up an open shot.

Spin: Now you see me, now you don’t! Rotate the right thumbstick clockwise and then quickly release when dribbling with right hand.

Half Spin: Now you see me… oh and now I’m back again! Rotate the right thumbstick in a quarter circle from right to up, and then quickly release when dribbling with right hand.

Now get out there and show off your Burke-esque moves!
