That’s right, if you really want to master NBA 2K21 on the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, you need to basically do a reverse-Brexit and figure out how to Eurostep like the best imports in the NBA.

First, um, what is a Eurostep?

Basically, it’s a sneaky move that allows you to cut through multiple defenders by throwing them off the direction you’re driving—kinda like a one-man momentum pick and roll. But if that sounds intimidating, we’ll simplify it even further: a Eurostep is when you start in one direction and suddenly break for the other.

Why’s it called a Eurostep?

The move originated in European basketball, and was first witnessed in the NBA in the late 1980s, courtesy of Lithuanian shooting guard Šarūnas Marčiulionis.

In recent years, with more and more players arriving in the NBA from Europe, the move has gained prominence. Now, you can master it no matter where you’re from. Find out how below.

How to Eurostep in NBA 2K21

Alright! Simply move and hold the right thumbstick down while driving with the ball in your avatar's right hand. (Driving means 'sprinting' to the basket, so you’ll need to hold down R2 on the PS4 and RT on the Xbox One).

Alternatively, you can double tap Square on the PS4 or X on the Xbox One while driving and holding the left thumbstick toward the off hand.
