Oy, Reeek! For April Fools' Day, Adult Swim Made an Aussie Ep of "Rick and Morty"

It’s not a fourth season, but we’ll take it!

There may not be a deal in place for Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland to make more Rick and Morty, but that hasn’t stopped Adult Swim from recruiting Aussie animator Michael Cusack for a very special one-off episode.

For April Fools' Day, Adult Swim launched “Bushworld Adventures”, a very authentic and nuanced look at Australian culture, starring, ahem, "Reeek" and "Morteeee".

In it, Rick demands his nephew Morty go with him on an eight-hour drive to "Bendigo to get me green cube." Along the way, all kinds of absurd, definitely offensive stuff happens, before Morty finally earns the respect of his uncle, getting the ultimate compliment: being called, "a true blue Australian hero".

Besides being a bizarre and hugely-stressful 11-minute prank, it’s also a meta-commentary on Rick and Morty’s seemingly random ultraviolence and a satire of Australian-ness (right down to the discounts at the servo).

But, yes, it’s mostly just a prank.

The episode is streaming on a loop at the Adult Swim website, though, who knows for how long. It was meant to come down at midnight on April 1, yet it’s still going. So, if you have the stomach for it (and are of appropriate age, though, we're not even sure what that would be) get it while you can!
