"Avengers 4" Director Says Captain America's "Not Done Yet", So, Sorry Chris

Poor Cap. Let the man rest.
Though Chris Evans has been crying out for the sweet release of death (at least, on behalf of Captain America), his Avengers 4 director says Cap isn’t getting off that easy.
Last month, Evans posted an emotional tweet to commemorate the end of shooting on Avengers 4, and it sure seemed to suggest he was done playing the character, indicating that Steve Rogers was likely going to sacrifice himself to bring his dusted colleagues back to life.
Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day to say the least. Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honor. To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful.

But Joe Russo—who directed Avengers: Infinity War and its upcoming untitled sequel with his brother Anthony—tells USA Today that Captain America may only die when they say he can die.
"I think it was more emotional for him than it was us only because he’s not done yet," he says.
"And I won’t explain what that means, but the audience will soon understand what I’m talking about."

Chris Evans is yet to Tweet about Russo’s comment. In fact, the last thing he did on Twitter was retweet Mark Ruffalo, who apparently lost his backpack on a NYC subway and wants it back. (Good luck with that.)
But if we had to wonder what he’s thinking right about now….

The next Avengers movie hits cinemas April 2019.
