The Surviving Avengers Had an Exclusive Dinner Party and Only One of the "Dusted" Was Invited

The final insult.

If you are one of the few and final people on the planet to have not yet seen Avengers: Infinity War, click away, lest ye’ be privy to some heartbreaking spoilers.

After all, getting to read articles that deal with the fate of certain Avengers is a privilege, not a right.

Earlier this week, Karen Gillan—aka the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Nebula—posted a group-hang pic of your favourite Avengers and their filmmakers enjoying a dinner at the opening of new Los Angeles restaurant Simone.

(Simone belongs to Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo, and though we appreciate their need to diversify their portfolios, we feel they have more pressing things to attend to, such as finishing—and naming—the Infinity War sequel.)

In Gillan’s cheerful pic, there’s Chris Evans, Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johansson and even Marisa Tomei (Aunt May isn’t technically an Avenger, but we’d still pick her for to fight Thanos over Hawkeye).

There’s also Joe Russo, Marvel head Kevin Feige and your boyfriend/Thor: Ragnarok filmmaker Taika Waititi.

But what’s most striking about this pic is that only one of the "dusted" Avengers (AKA those who got finger-snapped into oblivion by Thanos) managed to score an invite: Pom Klementieff, better known as Mantis.

Now, could it be that disintegrated Avengers stars like Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Chadwick Boseman and Tom Holland were simply unavailable to attend the opening of Simone? Perhaps. But we choose to believe they were snubbed, specifically, with only Pom making the cut because everyone likes her best.

We also choose to believe this means Waititi’s Korg—whose fate has been hanging in the balance—actually survived Infinity War and will indeed be back to deliver the killing blow to Thanos in 2019.

As to why Mark Ruffalo wasn’t there (despite having survived Infinity War): it’s probably because they didn’t want the loose-lipped dude to let any more spoilers slip after a few drinks at Simone.
