It's Up to Black Widow to Save the Day in the "Avengers: Infinity War" Sequel

We trust her.

The screenwriters of Avengers: Infinity War and its untitled sequel (due out next May) have offered a tantalising new detail about the next flick to the New York Times.

And if you somehow have not yet seen the fourth highest grossing film in history, you may want to click away now, because spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War are incoming.

Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely told the NYT that Captain America and Black Widow will "have a much bigger role to play in that second film."

Although, to be fair, there just aren’t that many other characters left to focus on in the follow-up.

This news will come as a relief to their stans, who likely lamented their fleeting screentime in Infinity War.

Not only did the movie dance around Captain America and Iron Man’s feud from Civil War, it didn’t really resolve the relationship woes of Black Widow and Hulk either (though, it did give Natasha Romanoff the chance to fight alongside Scarlet Witch and Okoye, which was legally dope).

Though we love Chris Evans as Cap, he’s had three standalone movies to shine in, whereas Scarlett Johansson is yet to get a single Black Widow flick. She has instead played a supporting role in six films. There have been rumblings of a Black Widow movie for a while now, but you likely won’t hear confirmation of one until her fate is revealed at the end of the Infinity War sequel.

So, fingers crossed she makes it out alive. (Not so fast, Thanos. We know what happens when you cross your fingers.)
