Adult Swim Has Dropped a Surprise “Rick and Morty” Mini Episode

Stans just want the rest of Season 4.

Considering the coronavirus pandemic has us all practicing social distancing or self-isolating at home, it’s the ideal time for Adult Swim to drop the second half of Season 4 of Rick and Morty.

Unfortunately, there’s still no release date in sight. However, we have been blessed with a 5-minute mini episode, which was posted on the Adult Swim YouTube channel over the weekend to keep us entertained.

The short, titled "Samurai & Shogun (Rick and Morty)", was created by Japanese animation studio Studio Deen. Yohei Tadano voices Rick WTM72, while Keisuke Chiba voices Shogun Morty.

It's kind of like when Adult Swim handed the keys over to Australian animator Michael Cusak for a special one-off Aussie ep called "Bushworld Adventures".

Although, this mini ep is even more graphic than Rick and Morty’s usual episodes, and yes, Rick still mumbles his catchphrase "Wubalubadubdub".

Check it out for yourself.

Co-creator of Adult Swim’s anime programming block Toonami, Jason DeMarco, tweeted that it took a year for them to make the mini episode.

"Yeah so we spent a year putting together a five minute Rick and Morty Lone Wolf & Cub anime short for you guys," he wrote.

Lone Wolf & Cub is a manga created by Kazuo Koike and Goseki Kojima, which follows a disgraced samurai on a journey of revenge.

Of course, all fans really want is the rest of Season 4. With the first half released in December 2019, there’s still no word as to when the remaining episodes will arrive.

Until then, it looks like you’ll just have to watch your favourite episodes on repeat.
