The Rumours Are True: “A Quiet Place” Video Game Is Coming Out Next Year

*Excitedly screams internally*

Don’t scream too loud with excitement (you know why) but A Quiet Place is getting turned into a video game, so you can poop your pants in your own time now.

The two-part horror films—written and directed by The Office’s John Krasinski and starring his wife Emily Blunt—were a massive hit by horror standards, raking in over $600 million at the box office.

Now, the A Quiet Place universe is coming to life in a video game and fans are equally excited and frightened to play it.

Here’s everything we know so far.

When is the A Quiet Place game coming out?

Official dates have yet to be revealed. All we know so far according to the game’s website is that the game is coming out in 2022.

That does seem very soon, so don’t hold your breath for an early 2022 release. Our money is on October next year.

What will the game be about?

If you aren’t familiar with the premise of A Quiet Place then we’ll fill you in (without spoilers of course).

Earth has been invaded by terrifying aliens that have hunted and killed most of the planet’s population. The only difference between this and other alien horror films is that the aliens are blind but possess sharp hearing. Because of this, people can’t make noise when they move.

For anyone who saw A Quiet Place at the movies, you’ll remember how deathly quiet it was in the cinemas—no one even wanted to eat their popcorn.

Game developers Saber Interactive want to capture that silent feeling in the game in what they say will be an original story that is separate from the movies.

Unfortunately, that means no Krasinski or Blunt in the game.

What will the gameplay be like?

Since no gameplay footage or trailer has been released, there is very little to go by in this area.

In the press release, Saber announced that game will be a “single-player, story-driven horror adventure” with gameplay that “captures the compelling suspense, emotion and drama for which the series is famous for.”

Damn, that sounds good. Anyone else getting some serious The Last of Us vibes?

Considering the developers have worked on games like World War Z, Halo and The Witcher 3, we reckon the game is in safe hands.

The A Quiet Place video game is slated for release in 2022.
