Bad News: “Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist” Just Got Cancelled

Cue the sad music.

It’s bad news for all you musical lovers because NBC's popular musical dramedy Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist has been cancelled after just two seasons.

According to Variety, there were ongoing discussions about moving the series to NBC’s streaming service Peacock, but show producers and network executives couldn’t make a deal work out.

The good news: the show might not be dead just yet, a spokesperson from Lionsgate Television revealed.

“In a world where finding loyal and passionate audiences is never easy,” they said.

“We believe there must be a home for this great, award-winning show with a passionate and dedicated following.

The show was praised by critics and won an Emmy for Outstanding Choreography as well as a Golden Globe nomination for Jane Levy who stars Zoey Clarke, a San Francisco based computer coder who begins to imagine her innermost thoughts as popular songs

Real talk, this show was popular in my house, the tunes are a real bop.

After news broke of its cancelation, the show's cult following of fans successfully got #SaveZoeysPlaylist trending worldwide, leading show creator Austin Winsberg to tweet his belief that the show will find another home elsewhere.

It’s safe to say that I don’t think we’ve seen the end of this one.

For those wanting to see what all the hype is about, you can catch both seasons of Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist on Stan.
