Yes, That's Colin Farrell as Penguin in "The Batman"

Is this what you'd call a glo-up?

We have been waiting a hell of a long time to see the first trailer for The Batman starring Robert Pattinson.

In fact, the internet went wild back in February when a test video of Pattinson wearing the batsuit was posted by director Matt Reeves.

Now, the dark and thrilling teaser trailer for the film has finally dropped, and it's safe to say fans aren't disappointed.

Accompanied by Nirvana's "Something in the Way", the two-and-a-half minutes of footage takes us on a nightmarish ride through Gotham City.

Check it out for yourself.

We can gather from the trailer that Batman is hunted by a serial killer (most likely Riddler) who is leaving him letters at every crime scene. In fact, it looks like we're in for more of a detective story than an action flick.

The reboot also explores the early days of Batman's career, focusing on a younger Bruce Wayne who is haunted by his past.

Pattinson, who seems to be starring in pretty much every upcoming blockbuster, appears to be playing a more dishevelled version of Bruce Wayne than we've seen in the past.

However, the real shock didn't come from Pattinson's portrayal of Batman, but from Colin Farrell's appearance as the Penguin.

Farrell looks so different as the villain that you may not have even realised it was him.

Just in case you are not familiar with Farrell's work in Totall Recall or True Detective, this is what he usually looks like.

Farrell appears in three short shorts throughout the teaser trailer, and his physical transformation is simply mind-blowing.

It looks like the Irish actor is wearing heavy prosthetics and a balding wig. Some fans even though it was Richard Kind from Curb Your Enthusiasm.

The Penguin wasn't the only side character that we caught a glimpse of during the trailer. We also saw Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler and Commissioner Gordon (Jeffery Wright).

At this stage, The Batman is scheduled to be released by Warner Bros. Pictures in the United States on 1 October, 2021. It was shifted from June 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic halting production.

As reported by NME, production will be able to resume in the United Kingdom in September.
