Robert Pattinson Reportedly Has Coronavirus, Halting Filming of "The Batman"

The production previously shut down in March.

It was only last week that the internet was collectively stunned by the teaser trailer for The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson.

Set to Nirvana's moody track "Something in the Way", the two-and-a-half minutes of footage takes us on a nightmarish ride through Gotham City.

In particular, people were going wild over Colin Farrell's appearance as the Penguin. The actor looks so unrecognisable that fans simply couldn't accept that it was him.

Of course, the film is not due to land in cinemas in the United States until 1 October 2021, so we still have some waiting to do before we can watch it.

However, there's a chance that it'll be delayed, considering Pattinson reportedly has coronavirus.

Earlier today, it was revealed that Pattinson is said to have tested positive for COVID-19, causing filming of The Batman to be halted just days after the superhero drama resumed work at studios outside of London.

As reported by Vanity Fair, Warner Bros. wouldn't comment on any individual worker's health, saying, "A member of The Batman production has tested positive for COVID-19, and is isolating in accordance with established protocols. Filming is temporarily paused."

According to Vanity Fair's source, Pattinson is the individual who contracted coronavirus.

This isn't the first time that production has shut down. The Batman also stopped filming back in March when the quarantine lockdown first came into place.

At this stage, Warner Bros. has not confirmed when production will resume.
