Fans Are Shook By Robert Pattinson's Accent in "The Devil All The Time" Trailer

Nothing could prepare us.
Netflix has dropped the trailer for its new southern gothic thriller The Devil All the Time, which is based on the acclaimed novel of the same name by Donald Ray Pollock.
Directed by Antonio Campos (Christine), the film is set in Ohio, with the events taking place sometime between World War II and the Vietnam War.
The official Netflix synopsis reads: "Sinister characters converge around a young man devoted to protecting those he loves in a postwar backwood town teeming with corruption and brutality."
Tom Holland plays the young Arvin Russell, while Robert Pattinson stars as the unholy preacher.
Other cast members include Sebastian Stan, Jason Clarke, Riley Keough, Haley Bennett, Harry Melling, Mia Wasikowska, Eliza Scanlen and Bill Skarsgård. So yeah, it's basically our dream cast.
Although, it's not necessarily the cast or the plot that people are talking about after watching the trailer. Instead, fans are obsessing over Pattinson's accent.
Check it out for yourself.
From watching the trailer there's absolutely no denying that Pattinson puts on an entirely convincing southern accent. In fact, the first time he speaks you are not even sure if it's actually him.
People have taken to social media to express their shock.

This isn't the first time the British actor has tried his hand at a different accent. Although, viewers couldn't quite decide if his French accent in The King was absolutely dreadful or incredible.
It was also recently revealed that Pattinson auditioned for the role of Lucas Lee in 2010's Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World. Casting director Allison Jones told Vanity Fair that Pattinson did the American accent really well, but the part was given to Chris Evans.
The Devil All the Time lands on Netflix globally on 16 September 2020.
Until then, you can watch Pattinson shout "deluuusions" on repeat. You won't be disappointed.
