There’s a “Winnie the Pooh” Horror Movie Coming Out and It Looks Wack

Is nothing sacred?

It seems all good things must be tainted.

And same goes for the eternally loved Winnie the Pooh and his woodland friends, who have been transformed into murderous villains in Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey.

The first trailer for this absurd movie has been released, and it’s truly… something.

In the upcoming flick, which was first announced in May, Christopher Robin has outgrown his childhood and his toys.

After entering adulthood, he left the Hundred Acre Wood behind. Winnie the Pooh and Piglet grew resentful, and, well, straight up evil.

Now Christopher has returned home, bringing along a girlfriend, and his toys are not happy to see him. Not only that, but Pooh and Piglet have eaten the rest of the Hundred Acre Wood crew (Eeyore, Rabbit, Kanga) for sustenance.

This is mainly because copyright still applies to these characters, so they kinda couldn't make the cut—whereas Pooh himself made it into the public domain in January.

The devil works hard, but the creators of this film worked harder to ensure Blood and Honey was the first Pooh-themed flick out of the gate. It was filmed over just 10 days, right near the original forest that inspired the one in the books.

Some remaining copyright issues meant Pooh couldn’t wear his iconic red crop top in the slasher, so you’ll see him in a lumberjack suit. Oh, and him and Piglet aren’t animated or anything—they legit just look like humans with masks on.

Apparently, it will be released on streaming services soon, but we don’t have an actual date just yet. Rolling Stone has already called it “childhood-ruining”, so honestly, there’s no rush. We’re good.
