When's the New Season of "Derry Girls" Coming to Netflix Australia?

We know you’re missing Erin, Orla, Clare and Michelle.

Compared with the UK, Australians have much to be grateful for. We have better weather. We have better beaches. And we’re not embroiled in a culturally divisive divorce with 27 other states.

But, they got the second season of Derry Girls before us.

The comedy series, set in Northern Island during the Troubles (a decades-long conflict that really can’t be encapsulated in a mid-sentence parenthetical, so, sorry for interrupting the flow), follows a group of teenagers at a Catholic girls’ school.

It’s developed a cult following in Australia, thanks to its availability on Netflix (and no doubt largely due to star Saoirse-Monica Jackson’s wide range of facial expressions for any occasion).

However, Aussies have had to make do with a single season, even though the second season debuted in the UK this March.

Thankfully, our national nightmare is (almost ended), with Netflix confirming that Season 2 will arrive, in its entirety, on Australian Netflix this August.

So, save the date: S2 of Derry Girls lands 2 August 2019.
