How to Watch "Fargo" Season 4 in Australia

Oh yah.

It’s been a long, long, long, long, long, long, too-long time since Fargo was last on our television screens.

How long? When the Season 3 finale aired on 21 June 2017, up-and-coming recording artist Cardi B was still being courted by Migos rapper Offset, with their engagement another four months away.

Welp, anyway…

Our long national nightmare is over, with the fourth season of Fargo finally here for us to enjoy, debuting on FX in America on 27 September (having initially been delayed from its April premiere date because of a little something called COVID-19… something else we didn’t see coming in '17).

Unfortunately, that information hardly helps us here...

The good news is that the 11-episode series will be available to stream in Australia on 8 October via SBS on Demand, premiering first on SBS with a double episode at 8.35pm. Weekly episodes will follow on Thursdays.

The fourth season of the anthology series stars Chris Rock as Loy Cannon, head of a Missouri crime family who trades sons with the head of the Italian mafia as part of a dangerous truce in the 1950s. And, this of course being Fargo, based on the Coen brothers’ classic movie of the same name (and really their whole oeuvre of ironic capers in which criminal choices are grimly paid for eventually), you can expect the ramifications of this generally ill-advised swapsie to echo throughout the decades.

Jason Schwartzman, Ben Wishaw, Timothy Olyphant and Jessie Buckley (from I’m Thinking of Ending Things) also star in S4.

If you’ve never enjoyed the frightening/folksy world of Fargo before, you can catch up with the first three seasons on SBS and Netflix (not that you need to, because S4, like every other season, follows an entirely new storyline). However, you’re gonna have to wait a while before Season 4 lands on Netflix, as SBS has exclusive streaming rights for now.

Oh, and if you’ve never seen the movie (oh geez!) you can stream it on Stan and Foxtel Now. But really? You've never seen Fargo?
