When's Season 7 of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" Coming to Netflix Australia?

And now we play the waiting game.

The seventh blessed season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine has wrapped up its run on NBC in the United States and SBS here in Australia.

But don’t despair: an eighth season is on the way. The writers have already re-assembled to write the new batch of episodes via Zoom, so hopefully production won’t be delayed too much by coronavirus. In fact, they’re planning on writing the effects of the pandemic into the show, so get ready for some disgusting iso-cooking from Charles, probably.

Still, those who stubbornly refuse to watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine via any streaming service other than Netflix are yet to even enjoy a single second of this latest season, and thus haven’t experienced this moment of pure art.

HEAVY SPOILERS FOR S7 FOLLOW.

OKAY NO MORE SPOILERS.

So, we’re here to make an educated guess as to when it’ll land on Australian Netflix.

Here’s what we know:

When Fox axed Brooklyn Nine-Nine at the end of Season 5, it was swiftly picked up by NBC. However, that shifted the production schedule, which meant the first ep of Season 6 didn’t debut until January 2019. Though Netflix indeed carries the show, SBS Viceland has first-run rights in Australia, which means they get to air it first. Episodes remain on demand for 35 days after airing, and then they disappear.

Netflix Australia can’t actually upload the show to its streaming service until it has finished airing on traditional broadcast outlets both here and elsewhere in the world. As a result, S6 of B99 didn’t come to Netflix Australia until January of this year.

If we had to guess, you’ll probably have to wait until January of 2021 for Season 7 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine to land on Netflix Australia. (Though, if you’re so inclined, you can buy every ep of S7 right now on iTunes.)

That said, Season 6 was 18 episodes long, while Season 7 was just a swift 13. So, it might not take that long. But if 2020 has taught us anything… it’s to not get our hopes up too much.

Until then, you’ll just have to make do with this short clip of eventual Emmy-winning guest star Vanessa Bayer being absolutely bonkers.

The first six seasons of Brooklyn Nine-Nine are now available to stream on Netflix.
