When Will "The Handmaid's Tale" Season 4 Be Released in Australia?

A brand new season trailer is here.

Blessed be today's news, 'cos another trailer for The Handmaid's Tale Season 4 has arrived and it looks pretty damn chaotic.

It's an update we've all been waiting for, considering Season 3 premiered back in June 2019 (yes, it has actually been that long).

The new trailer gives a closer look at the upcoming season, and shows June (Elisabeth Moss) on the run.

If you haven't caught it on socials already, you can check it out below.

From what we know about the S4 plot, June strikes back against Gilead and becomes a rebel leader. It's also pretty safe to say that she'll have to deal with the fallout from the hectic events of Season 3.

If you need a quick recap, S3 left June leading a rebellion to rescue the children of Gilead. While distracting the guards, she was shot. Fortunately, it was confirmed by the first Season 4 trailer that June was still alive and wreaking havoc.

So, when will Season 4 be released in Australia?

At the end of the trailer, it is revealed that The Handmaid's Tale Season 4 will premiere on Hulu for US viewers on 28 April 2021.

While an exact Aussie release date hasn't been confirmed yet, SBS has announced that the episodes will be fast-tracked and will screen in Australia exclusively on SBS and SBS On Demand.

That means there's a pretty good chance that we'll be able to watch new episodes around the same time as US viewers, but SBS have noted that they'll be releasing more information about the Aussie premiere very soon.

If you need to do some catching up before the new season lands, you can stream Seasons 1 and 2 on Stan, and Season 3 on SBS On Demand.

While it looks like we're in for a lot of drama in Season 4, you'll be glad to know that the fun won't stop here. The series has already been renewed for a fifth season, but it's unclear whether that will be the show's last.

Adapted from Margaret Atwood's classic novel, The Handmaid's Tale also stars Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovski, Alexis Bledel, Madeline Brewer, Ann Dowd, O.T. Fagbenle, Max Minghella and Samira Wiley.

Well, get ready for some big rebellion vibes.

Revisiting 'The Handmaids Tale' and yes it's still brill and yes my whole family is now bowing to one another repeating 'blessed be the fruit.'
