We’ve Finally Been Blessed With "The Handmaid’s Tale" Season 4 Trailer

Except, it’s not coming until 2021.

We have been waiting a damn long time to get our first look at Season 4 of The Handmaid's Tale, and our patience has finally been rewarded.

From the looks of the action-packed trailer, it seems like we're in for one hell of a season.

If you haven't seen it, give it a watch now.

The trailer briefly recaps moments from the last season, along with introducing a bunch of new footage surrounding the ongoing revolution, and June's work to upend the oppressive society of Gilead.

If you need a quick recap, Season 3 left June (Elisabeth Moss) leading a rebellion to rescue the children of Gilead. While distracting the guards, June was shot.

While no one expected June to die, the trailer confirms that she's definitely still alive and wreaking havoc.

However, the trailer also revealed some very depressing news: Season 4 won't be arriving until 2021.

As reported by Digital Spy, production on the latest episodes began earlier this year with an expectation to air around September, but it was halted in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.

At this stage, filming is still yet to resume.

Although, it appears the wait will be worth it. Showrunner Bruce Miller teased that a "huge incident is on its way that'll leave audiences gasping."

"You don't want to be setting up Season 4 in Season 3. Audiences smell that coming," he told Entertainment Weekly.

"So what I do is completely screw myself at the end of the season. Then you think, 'Oh, there's a whole bunch of smart writers who will come in next season and solve that problem.'"

You can stream The Handmaid's Tale on Stan.
