The Trailer For Tim Burton’s Wednesday Addams Adaptation Is Here, And It Looks Insane

On Wednesdays we wear black.

It’s been more than two months since the teaser trailer was released, but the full trailer for Tim Burton's Wednesday is as spooky as you’d expect from the creator of Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands.

The series is set to follow the story of actress Jenna Ortega’s gothic Wednesday in her school years, after she’s expelled from Nancy Reagan High School. Yes, that Nancy Reagan.

The trailer starts as all good trailers do, with Wednesday dropping two full bags of live piranhas into a full pool, causing one swimmer to get chomped in a pretty sensitive place.

Of course, Wednesday is expelled, and moves to Nevermore Academy.

It's the spooky and surreal school that Wednesday’s parents, Gomez and Morticia, played by Luis Guzman and Catherine Zeta-Jones, once went to.

The rest of the trailer doesn’t give away too much of the plot, other than the fact that Wednesday is going to be spending her time at goth paradise, filled with dark rooms, fencing, creepy dancing and of course, murder and violence.

Fans on Twitter are super excited about their new goth queen, praising the casting of Jenna Ortega, who previously featured in You and the latest Scream installment, so she's definitely got the horror and thriller experience.

But the series is also set to involve a supernatural murder mystery, as Wednesday aims to “hone her psychic ability and solve a murder mystery connected to her families past”.

One scene that we’ve got to highlight is definitely going to be one of our favourites: Jenna Ortega as the titular Wednesday, on a roof, absolutely shredding the cello in true ‘Eddie from Stranger Things’ style.

Although it doesn’t have an official release date, the series is set to be released some time this spring on Netflix.

Tim Burton is the executive producer and has directed four out of the eight episodes.

The series also features Gwendoline Christie and in a guest role, the OG Wednesday from the 90s, Christina Ricci.

So sharpen your knives and plait your hair, because the Queen of Scream is back.
