Good News Alert: “Wednesday” is Getting a Second Season

Everyone’s favourite goth queen is heading back to Nevermore.
After a massive first season, Wednesday has been renewed for a second season, and we couldn’t be more pumped.
Netflix confirmed the renewal on the official Wednesday Addams Twitter account over the weekend.
In the video, Wednesday herself called us all out, saying “over the past few weeks, I've been hunted, haunted and mimicked millions of times across the internet,” referencing the TikTok dance associated with the episode.
“It's been pure torture. Thank you,” she said.
We won’t spoil too much of the first season if you haven’t caught it yet, but suffice it to say, there’s still some unfinished business from Season 1 that we need answered.
We don’t know what will happen yet in Season 2, but the show’s creators are keen to explore Nevermore even more.
“We can’t wait to dive headfirst into another season and explore the kooky, spooky world of Nevermore,” co-showrunners Miles Millar and Alfred Gough told Netflix, “We just need to make sure Wednesday hasn’t emptied the pool first.”
Of course, we’re gonna see the return of our favourite scream queen, Jenna Ortega (who’s literally also starring in Scream VI this year), alongside other faves like Catherine Zeta-Jones’ Morticia, Luis Guzmán’s Gomez, and Fred Armisen’s Uncle Fester.
The first season went absolutely nuts, breaking Netflix records by being watched for 411.29 million hours in it’s second week, and the #WednesdayAddams tag on TikTok skyrocketing to more than 22 billion views.

“It’s been incredible to create a show that’s connected with people across the world,” Millar and Gough said, “we’re thrilled to continue Wednesday’s torturous journey into Season 2.”
Fans have been quick to celebrate the announcement and share their predictions for the second season.
It’s been rumoured that a big part of Season 2 will focus on the relationship between Wednesday and her roommate and semi-best friend Enid, with some suggesting a romance could be on the cards.

It’s not been announced yet when the new season has come out, but with filming most likely to take place sometime this year, we might have to wait till 2024 to see our fav goth again.
