Our First Look at Tim Burton’s “Addams Family” Spin-off, “Wednesday”

“A twisted new series from the mind of Tim Burton” is coming soon.

Get ready to click your fingers along to the iconic theme song because the creepy, kooky, mysterious, and spooky Addams Family are returning.

Netflix has released a teaser trailer for “Wednesday”, directed by Tim Burton (who brought us similarly wacky creations such as Edward Scissorhands and Corpse Bride, so we know it’ll be good).

Jenny Ortega, who has made a name for herself as the star of the latest Scream installment, features as Wednesday in a polka dot dress and dreary pig tails, eyes hooded and gazing towards us emptily.

The trailer also features “Thing”, a disembodied hand, who joins Wednesday by crawling up onto her shoulder.

Also starring in the series is Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzman as Gomez Addams, and Christina Ricci—yep, the original Wednesday from the 1991 film. It’s not clear who she will play in this new series.

So, what’s it about? The series will see Wednesday learn to control her psychic powers and face a number of mysteries and murders as she attends ‘Nevermore Academy’.

The show will run for eight episodes and is “coming soon” according to the trailer. So put a witch’s shawl on, a broomstick you can crawl on, and get ready to pay a call on the Addams Family in 2022…
