Teen Needs About 16 Million More Retweets to Make His Dream of Free Chicken Nuggets for a Year Real

A 16-year-old teen in the U.S. has begun the journey of a lifetime.
On April 6, Carter Wilkerson fatefully tweeted at Wendy’s, a fast food chicken store, to see how many retweets he would need to score a year long’s supply of chicken nuggets.
Wendy’s responded with a clear “18 Million”. And so began a legend.
Since then, Wilkerson has embarked on a Twitter campaign to get an unprecedented 18 million retweets to score his humble goal: lots of chicken nuggs.
To put that in perspective, the record for the highest number of retweets is set at just over three million and belongs to Ellen DeGeneres.
Wilkerson is sitting on a little more than two million at the moment, and with #nuggsforcarter trending on Twitter, it’s very possible he could overtake DeGeneres’ record.
#NuggsForCarter is a beautiful movement that is truly beginning to heal the growing divide in our country.
