They're #1: "Youngblood" by 5SOS Outsold Beyoncé and Jay-Z's New Album Last Week

Bey and Jay may own a lot of expensive stuff, but they’re still second to 5SOS.
Aussie band 5 Seconds of Summer have topped the Australian and American album charts with their latest release, Youngblood.
As if that wasn’t impressive enough, get a load of this: 5SOS hit the top spot by outselling and outstreaming music royalty Beyoncé and Jay-Z, who dropped their surprise collab EVERYTHING IS LOVE last week.
Here at home, it wasn’t even close, with Youngblood debuting at #1 off the back of their #1 single of the same name.
EVERYTHING IS LOVE only placed at #6, outsold by albums from Post Malone, Ed Sheeran and the late XXXTentacion. (The Greatest Showman soundtrack is also still up there, somehow.).

More surprising is the U.S. result on the Billboard 200. Youngblood sold the equivalent of 142,000 album units; when you exclude streaming numbers, 5SOS moved 117,000 traditional copies of their record, thanks to a late surge prompted by fans—including some guy called Niall Horan.
By comparison, the Carters sold the equivalent of 123,000 units, only 70,000 of which were traditional albums sales.
5SOS now hold the record for most #1 albums on the U.S. Billboard 200 by an Australian band (with three). Onwards, lads!
Meanwhile, Bey and Jay will just have to soothe themselves with their many, many cars and watches.
