Prepare for Another Era: Beyoncé Has New Music Coming

Who run the world? Beyoncé apparently.

It’s been a rough three years since our lord and saviour Beyoncé released her last album Everything Is Love with her husband Jay-Z as The Carters.

So, yesterday when she revealed that new music was finally coming, you just know we had to get all the juicy details.

In a super rare interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Beyoncé spilled the tea about how she felt a renaissance was coming and that she wants to “be part of nurturing that escape in any way possible.”

Basically, new music is on the way!

With Lizzo on track to drop new music tomorrow, and Taylor Swift revealing the full tracklist to Red (Taylor’s Version) earlier this week, Beyoncé’s announcement is just the cherry on top that we all needed.

“I’ve been in the studio for a year and a half,” Beyoncé told the publication.

“Sometimes it takes a year for me to personally search through thousands of sounds to find just the right kick or snare. One chorus can have up to 200 stacked harmonies.

“After 31 years, it feels just as exciting as it did when I was nine years old. Yes, the music is coming!”

Not only is this Bey’s first music release since 2018, but it’s also her first solo act since her chart-topping album Lemonade in 2016, which gave us a deep glance into her generational trauma, heartbreak and of course, Black feminism.

“My 30s were about starting my family and my life becoming more than my career,” she said.

“I worked to heal generational trauma and turned my broken heart into art that would help move culture forward and hopefully live far beyond me.

“My 30s were about digging deeper.”

Now entering the next decade of her life, Beyoncé explained to Harper’s Bazaar that she just wants to focus on enjoying life, family and all of its freedoms.

“I want to travel without working,” Beyoncé said.

“I want this next decade to be about celebration, joy, and giving and receiving love. I want to give all the love I have to people who love me back.

“I’ve done so much in 40 years that I just want to enjoy my life. It’s hard going against the grain, but being a small part of some of the overdue shifts happening in the world feels very rewarding.”

All I have to say is that Bey is looking fierce in her 40s and if an album that’s celebrating this next stage of her life is on the cards, I’m fully on board.

“I’m at a point where I no longer need to compete with myself. I have no interest in searching backwards. The past is the past,” she said.

Unfortunately, this is all the info we have on Bey’s new era and music. For now, there is no information on when it will bless our ears, but we’ll defs keep you updated.
