Book Your Flights: They’re Making Edible Pizza Boxes In New York Now

Leave it to the gastronomic innovators of Brooklyn to figure out the perfect way to force-stop one’s heart.

The New York Times today profiled Vinnie’s Pizzeria, a Brooklyn eatery that has won a bunch of social media fans with “camera-ready innovations”, from their rainbow slice (celebrating same-sex marriage in the US) to a “Purple Plain” (in honour of the late Prince).

But one innovation stands above all others: their edible pizza boxes.

Yes, for just $US40, Brooklynites can order a pizza that comes in, basically, another pizza. Since launching them in April, they’ve sold just over 100 of the monstro-za-ties.

Turns out, the edible pizza box was concocted by co-owner Sean Berthiaume as a means of being environmentally-friendly towards the neighbourhood and limiting the number of pizza boxes he saw piled up in Brooklyn.

Anyway, start looking up cheap flights and preparing your stomach-lining accordingly.

If you can’t make it to NY anytime soon, Vinnie’s Pizzeria's Instagram will have to do.
