There's Finally Going to Be a "Halo" Series and Yes, It's Coming to Australia

Are you emotionally prepared for a HALO show?
A HALO live-action series has finally become a reality after the U.S. channel Showtime announced an order for a 10-episode television season based on the video game franchise.
The series will be set in the 26th century CE (same as the game) and will see an evil alien race known as the Covenant taking on humanity.

Showtime CEO's David Nevins explained that the show will most definitely appease fans of the video game.
"HALO is our most ambitious series ever, and we expect audiences who have been anticipating it for years to be thoroughly rewarded," said Nevins.
"Their vision of HALO will enthral fans of the game while also drawing the uninitiated into a world of complex characters that populate this unique universe."
Another series based off the games was announced five years ago but resulted in a lacklustre web series.
We Australians are often (unfairly) relegated as an afterthought country and find out a month-or-so later if and where a show will be released in our drylands. Thankfully, this time, we don't have to wait with bated breath to find out whether we'll we need to, uh, find alternative ways to view new shows.
Stan has announced that they'll be streaming the ambitious project once it's eventually made.

Sadly, it will only be going into production in early 2019, so don't expect it any time soon.
