The Whole Fam Is Back Together for the Lizzie McGuire Reboot

This is what dreams are made of.

It’s been 15 long years since we witnessed Isabella’s shocking takedown of Paolo in The Lizzie McGuire Movie, so when it was announced that a Lizzie McGuire reboot was in the works, we could hardly contain ourselves.

The Disney Channel show aired between 2001 and 2004, and starred Hilary Duff as the title character. For those who loved 13-year-old Lizzie’s relatability, it was devastating to see it come to an end.

However, our childhood prayers were answered in August, when Duff revealed that she would reprise her role as Lizzie during a panel at Disney’s D23 Expo. The actress said the reboot, which will air on Disney+, will focus on Lizzie getting ready to celebrate her 30th birthday in New York.

"Lizzie has grown up, she’s older, she’s wiser, she has a much bigger shoe budget. She has her dream job, the perfect life right now working as an apprentice to a fancy New York City decorator."

Considering original series creator Terri Minsky will serve as showrunner, people started wondering: What other cast members will we see again?

Well, it turns out Lizzie’s entire family will return for the reboot. Duff shared the news by posting this adorable picture featuring Hallie Todd, Robert Carradine, and Jake Thomas on Insta.

Of course, the internet went wild over seeing the gang back together.

On the other hand, some people are just hanging out to know whether Adam Lamberg and Lalaine will reprise their roles as Lizzie’s best friends Gordo and Miranda. The trio shared great on-screen chemistry, plus the real question on everyone’s minds is: Will Lizzie and Gordo end up together?

It looks like only time will tell.

According to E! News, Lizzie McGuire will be going into production soon and will arrive on Disney+ next year.
