The Spoil of The Century: The Top Five Moments of AFL Round 4

The Easter Weekend always brings some magic.
We got five magnificent days of Footy over the easter weekend, and with Monday’s result, every team has at least one win, and the race for the premiership cup is truly underway.
So, here’s the top five moments of Round 4, ranked.
5. Charlie Cameron’s six majors.
It was a tough result last week for Brisbane, with the Bulldogs coming home with a shock win.
Coming up against the undefeated Magpies was no easy feat, but the Lions turned it up on Thursday night, with Charlie Cameron kicking six big goals.
The best part? Getting to hear Country Roads six times.
4. Stringer’s 55m goal.
After battling injuries last year, Essendon great Jake Stringer returned to the side last week, but came to play this week.
He kicked four goals for the night and was one of Essendon’s best on Sunday – but one goal sticks out for us.
From 55 metres out, Stringer launched a massive barrell, bringing home a massive goal.
3. The Good Friday Appeal.
It’s always a good night when two teams put aside their differences and battle it out for a worthy cause.
The annual Carlton v North Melbourne Good Friday Appeal Match is a shining example.
Raising more than $23 million for The Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal, we were treated to some real heartwarming moments.
2. Jezza’s collision.
Jeremy Cameron had more than a few reasons to celebrate on Monday afternoon.
With seven goals in his team’s first win of the season, the celebration was on.
The biggest (and probably funniest) moment came after his seventh, when his run got in the way of a nearby umpire.
“I just remember celebrating and I actually thought I ran into the fence,” he told Fox Footy after the game.
“I had no idea what happened! When I looked down (and) it was the umpire, I was a bit shocked.”
1. Aliir Aliir saves the day.
The defender so nice, they named him twice.
It was a tight game at the SCG on Saturday night, and as the siren blew, Port Adelaide led by two, but Sydney’s Ollie Florent had the chance to kick a goal to secure the win.
The kick looked perfect, sailing through the goals – and Florent celebrated the win.
But on the line, the 194cm former Sydney Defender and Port Adelaide star Aliir Aliir reached skyward and spoiled the ball – securing Port’s win.
