Milestone Performances: The Top Five Moments of AFL Round 14

Cotchin’s turned back the clock.

Another weekend, another massive round of footy.

Despite only having six games this round, from Thursday onwards we had some truly great moments.

So, let’s unpack the top five moments of round 14.

5. Rayner flies in his 100^th.

Nothing beats a good speccy.

On Friday night at the Gabba, the glory went to Cam Rayner, playing in his 100^th game.

He took a massive mark on the back of the Sydney defenders, soaring into the air.

He responded by slotting the goal and bringing Brisbane closer to their eventual win.

4. Harley Reid stakes his draft spot.

This might be technically cheating, but Harley Reid deserves a spot on this list.

Playing in the under-18 championships on Sunday, Reid started the game off about as well as you can, slotting three goals in the first nine minutes.

Watch out for this kid when draft night comes around, cause he’s going in the number one spot.

3. Weightman kicks six and flies.

Cody Weightman had a big Sunday against the Kangaroos.

Not only did he kick a career-high six goals in his 50^th game, but he also took a massive screamer over Griffin Logue.

He was so good, he even caught the eye of Brownlow medallist Patrick Dangerfield.

2. Narkle returns to the big stage.

It’s been a fairytale story for Quinton Narkle.

After being dropped from Geelong at the end of last year, Narkle moved to the VFL to play for Essendon.

But a few weeks ago, Port Adelaide selected him in the mid-season draft, and chose him to replace the ill Junior Rioli against Narkle’s old side in Geelong.

Narkle absolutely starred on the night, collecting two goals.

1. Cotchin winds back the clock.

Game #300 is going to be special for any player.

But for the three-time Richmond premiership captain, Brownlow medallist and fan-favourite Trent Cotchin, it was especially important.

On Saturday night, the 33-year-old turned back the clock, picking up two goals, 29 disposals and an all-round impressive showing.
