“The Sims 4 Star Wars: Journey to Batuu” Trailer Has Been Released to Fan-Rage

Brb I’m preparing some popcorn for this drama.

EA Games just excitedly released the trailer to their collaboration between EA, Maxis and Lucasfilm for their new game pack The Sims 4: Journey to Batuu.

The pack is coming to PC via Origin and Steam, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on September 8 and is set to include all of the latest from the Star Wars series like the First Order, The Resistance, the Millennium Falcon and, of course, lightsabers.

The trailer has revealed that your Sims will explore the planet Batuu where you will socialise with aliens, complete missions, join forces and collect artifacts. You can even build a droid friend to bring home with you.

While the announcement of the new expansion pack gives players access to a plethora of new features and a whole new world to explore, the reaction from fans has been well… not so great.

Fans have flooded the original trailer on YouTube with frustrated comments and others have expressed their disappointment on Twitter with, if we’re being honest, some pretty good memes.

One of the biggest criticisms is that the new game pack is only aimed at a very niche market, suggesting Sims fans aren’t interested in Star Wars and Star Wars fans aren’t interested in The Sims.

Others are mad because The Sims 4 has been out for six years, and instead of giving players better elders, babies, skin tones or cars, they went with Star Wars.

To make matters worse, some Sims YouTubers have already made reaction videos to the trailer and it’s also not good.

Some concerns have also been raised about the copyright issues between the new pack and Sims YouTubers.

Whether or not you’re a fan of the collaboration the game will be available early this month so if you willing to give it a go, you won’t have to wait very long.
