A “That 70s Show” Spinoff Called “That 90s Show” Is Coming to Netflix

“Hello, Wisconsin!”

PSA to everyone: according to a report by Deadline, Netflix has ordered a That 70s Show spinoff called That 90s Show. Yes, dreams really do come true.

The new series, set to be a continuation of the Forman family, reprises Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp in their respective roles as Red Forman and Kitty Forman, but instead of following their rowdy teenage son and his friends, the show is set to focus on a new youngin.

Set in 1995, That 90s Show will follow Leia Forman the daughter of Eric (Topher Grace) and Donna (Laura Prepon) who visits her grandparents for the summer (don’t mind me cheering at the fact that Donna and Eric stayed together).

In the new series, Leia will bond with a new generation of Point Place kids just like her parents did, all while she grows up in a generation full of the same drama, sex, drugs and rock and roll.

So far, Netflix has confirmed 10 episodes of the new show and it is due to be executive produced by Marcy Carsey and Tom Werner under the Carsey-Werner Company, who produced the OG That 70s Show.

Unfortunately, there aren’t yet any deals in place to bring back other cast members from That 70s Show but there are expectations that many will at least make guest appearances (yes, that includes Ashton Kutcher).

If you don’t remember the classic show from the late ‘90s and early 2000s, That 70s Show ran for eight seasons and told the story of six teenage friends, their mishaps, families, siblings, and coming of age during the 1970s.

It directly follows Eric Forman, who is a typical high school student from Wisconsin and his relationship with his best friend/on and off girlfriend Donna, as well as his lovable gang played by Mila Kunis, Danny Masterson, Wilmer Valderrama, and Kutcher.

There’s no news yet as to when the show is set to land on Netflix, but considering production hasn’t started just yet, it may be a few years away.

If you want to watch the original, two seasons of That 70s Show is available to stream on 9Now.
