Taylor Swift Won An Emmy And Got Sued Over One Very Weird Weekend

Unstoppable news generator Taylor Swift pulled double duty over the weekend, winning an Emmy and getting sued over an eventful 48-hour period.
It all started promisingly enough when Swift discovered she had won an Emmy for Best Original Interactive Program for “Amex Unstaged: The Taylor Swift Experience”. (The Emmys that you’ve heard of – like, for Best Comedy Series and Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series - are announced during the televised ceremony on September 20, but the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences get rid of all the unsexy categories in the week preceding. Little did they realise Taylor Swift would win one. Fools!)
Swift learned of her victory via a Tweet from The Hollywood Reporter. She responded accordingly.

(This is the kind of public relations game that helps you win Instagram, by the way.)
But it wasn’t all good news. Actually, the next bit is fairly unpleasant. According to CNN, Colorado DJ David Mueller of local station KYGO also took the weekend to file a lawsuit against Swift, blaming her for his firing back in 2013.
Mueller attended a meet-and-greet at a Taylor concert back in ’13, during which Swift alleged he lifted her “skirt with his hands and grabbed her bottom.”
Swift’s security team removed Mueller from the concert grounds after the alleged event; he was later fired, following some terse phone calls from Swift’s management to KYGO (at least, according to his suit.)
Mueller claims someone else at the station, also at the event, had been the one to “put his arms around her, hands on her bottom.”
Still, Swift’s spokeswoman Tree Paine told CNN that there was evidence of Mueller’s grope, provided to the radio station “immediately after the incident.”
Seems like a pretty ugly situation, and hopefully, regardless of the outcome, it'll remind people to not just grab other people, regardless of their gender or fame level.
Back to the good news. Swift is halfway to an EGOT! With both an Emmy and Grammy (multiple of the latter, in fact) already in the bag, surely the Oscar and Tony will soon be in her grasp.
