Taylor Swift Has Won Her Sexual Assault Case Against DJ David Mueller

A jury has ruled in favour of Taylor Swift, ending her legal battle with DJ David Mueller and awarding her $US1.

Swift was locked in a sexual assault countersuit with Mueller, who initially sued the singer, her mother and her representatives for allegedly getting him fired from his gig at a Denver radio station.

Mueller was reportedly fired in 2013 when Swift’s team complained to management that Mueller had groped her during a backstage meet-and-greet.

The DJ was seeking up to $US3 million in damages, ABC News reports.

Swift only requested a symbolic $US1 in her countersuit, saying instead she was taking the opportunity to “help those whose voices should also be heard”.

She has pledged to make donations “in the near future to multiple organisations that helps sexual assault victims defend themselves.”

While taking the stand last week, Swift was unswayed by Mueller’s lawyer, who attempted to cast doubt over her accounting of events.

"I'm not going to allow you or your client to make me feel in any way that this is my fault," she said.

Mueller continued to assert his innocence after the trial, telling CNN, “I’m resolute.”
