PSA: Taylor Swift Is Now on TikTok and We're Ready for It

Welcome to SwiftTok.

Swifties have gone wild after Taylor Swift surprised fans everywhere by joining TikTok yesterday and posting her first video on the platform.

Already, the pop star has racked up 1.6 million followers on her account (not bad for 24 hours) and that’s only gonna grow the more she posts.

Swift’s first post was a nine-second video promoting the vinyl edition of her re-recording of “Red (Taylor’s Version)”, set to UK rapper Dave’s “Screwface Capital” that features the line, “My outstanding payments swift like Taylor”.

I see what you did there T-Swizzle.

In the caption for the vid, the “Shake It Off” singer wrote that there's heaps going on in her life right now.

“Lots going on at the moment: Red (my version) vinyl is up for presale on my site and oh I’m on TikTok now let the games begin.”

Finally, Swift finished the post with the “#SwiftTok” which has driven people wild, even drawing a comment on the video from the official TikTok account.

“Guess the app is called #SwiftTok now,” wrote the social media platform.

That’s just good banter right there.

Already, the video has over 10 million views, 1.7 million likes and 200,000 comments which is damn impressive, but what I’m really looking forward to is Swift’s promise in her bio.

“This is pretty much just a cat account,” she wrote.

I don’t wanna split hairs, but at the moment there are no cats in sight on her TikTok, so she’s really gonna need to follow through on that promise and up her quota of cats before I give her a follow.

Just give the people what they want, dammit!

Swift’s upcoming re-recording “Red (Taylor’s Version)” is slated to drop on 19 November, and is a statement against the record company that bought the masters of the original album and blocked her from using her own music.

Go get 'em gurl.
