"Stranger Things" Season 4 Is Officially Coming (But Won't Be Set in Hawkins)

Fans reckon they’re onto something.

It’s been a long few months of intensely searching for any sign at all that Stranger Things Season 4 is in the works. Fortunately, Netflix has finally put us out of our misery and confirmed that the popular show has been renewed for a fourth season.

Let’s be real though: we totally knew Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and the rest of the Hawkins gang would return to our screens. After all, Stranger Things’ third season smashed Netflix records when 40.7 million households viewed it in its first four days of airing.

Still, it’s a relief to have the official confirmation.

Not only has the sci-fi series been renewed for a fourth season, but the show’s creators The Duffer Brothers have signed onto a multi-year film and series overall deal with Netflix. That means we can expect to see a whole lot of new content from the brothers in the future.

The Duffer Brothers said in a statement, "From our first pitch meeting to the release of Stranger Things 3, Netflix has been nothing short of sensational, providing us with the kind of support, guidance, and creative freedom we always dreamed about."

*Spoilers for Stranger Things Season 3 below.*

While the quick teaser doesn’t give a whole lot away, towards the end of the clip we see the text "We’re not in Hawkins anymore" flash across the screen. However, this is not entirely surprising. In the Season 3 finale, we saw Eleven moving away from Hawkins with the Byers, along with a mid-credits trip to a Russian prison. So, it feels only natural that the show would be expanding into entirely new territory.

Of course, this leads us to the burning question everyone wants answered: Where is Hopper (David Harbour)?

Fans are ready to investigate any possible clues, considering no one has accepted he might actually be dead.

If Hopper is "the American" the Russian guards referred to in the Season 3 finale, are the characters heading there to rescue him?

Additionally, fans with incredibly good eyesight have even spotted Hopper’s house in the background of the teaser. Could he be hiding out there in the upside down? It’s definitely a reasonable theory.

Although, there is another major mystery that Stranger Things Season 4 needs to solve. What happened to Kali and her gang? Introduced in Season 2, the character was notably absent from Season 3. Will the Duffer Brothers bring her back for the fourth season? Only time will tell.

More importantly, how are makeup artists going to recreate Steve Harrington’s sacred hairdo when Joe Keery savagely cut it all off?

Neither the release date or cast details for Stranger Things Season 4 have been released, but we will keep you updated.
