The Teaser For Netflix’s New Show “I Am Not Okay With This” Is Delightfully Awkward

Stranger Things producers are attached to the series.
Earlier this week, Netflix dropped a teaser trailer for their upcoming show I Am Not Okay With This, based on an acclaimed novel by Charles Forsman. If that name rings a bell, it's because he also authored The End of the F***ing World, which proved a surprise smash hit for the streaming service when it was released in 2017.
If the teaser if anything to go by, we're in for some gloriously cringeworthy moments. Check it out for yourself.
If you managed to survive that whole minute of pure awkwardness, congratulations.
While the teaser establishes the tone of the show, it doesn't give us many clues as to what it is actually about.
Well, as readers of the book may know, the series centres on a teenage girl named Sydney (Sophia Lillis) who is navigating the many challenges that come along with being in high school, while also dealing with family issues, her budding sexuality and, uh, mysterious superpowers.

You might recognise Lillis from her role in It or Gretel & Hansel. The start-studded cast also includes Wyatt Oleff (It, Guardians of the Galaxy), Sofia Bryant (The Good Wife, The Code), Kathleen Rose Perkins (Episodes, You're The Worst) and Aidan Wojtak-Hissong (The Mission, Falling Water).
The series has been created by Jonathan Entwistle and Christy Hall, while Stranger Things producers Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen are both executive producers.
Season 1 lands on Aussie Netflix on Wednesday 26 February, so prepare to binge.
