If you’ve ever whiled away your holidays overheating your laptop with The Sims and all its expansion packs, you’d know the particular excitement over a new update or feature being added.

And fans of The Sims haven’t been this excited about a pack in a hot minute. EA announced The Sims 4 High School Years this morning and it looks incredible.

Teenagerhood is finally being brought to The Sims, so you can live vicariously through the most iconic, Americanised high school occasions like hanging out in the cafeteria, going to detention, grabbing smoothies after class and of course… prom!

The lead producer of The Sims 4 High School Years, George Pigula, gave a taste of some of the new features.

“Sims will learn to juggle school and extracurricular events, form lifelong friends, and experience big moments like prom. They can even develop their own fashion likes and dislikes with the new Trendi app with clothes designed by Depop sellers.

“High school is an incredibly formative time, and we wanted to give players the chance to create and customize their own, personalized high school experiences before their Sims reach young adulthood,” he said.

The last expansion pack released was Cottage Living, which was a huge success for everyone that wanted to live out their cottage-core dreams during the pandemic. Honestly, nothing could be more therapeutic.

You’ll be able to get your mittens on the High School Years expansion pack on 28 July, and you can pre-order it on the EA website.
