*Sigh* “Cyberpunk 2077” Has Been Delayed Again, This Time to December

And for the third time.

As you probably could’ve guessed, CD Projekt Red has delayed Cyberpunk 2077 once again and this time they’re making us wait until 10 December.

While we’re all used to this kind of news now thanks to the pandemic, the delay is actually due to the developer’s commitment to launching the game on so many different platforms.

Cyberpunk 2077 Director Adam Badowski and Owner Marcin Iwiński announced the lengthy news in a tweet this morning that reads:

“Most likely, there are many emotions and questions in your heads, so, first and foremost, please accept our humble apologies,” they said.

“The biggest challenge for us right now is shipping the game on current-gen, next-gen and PC at the same time, which requires us to prepare and test 9 versions of it (Xbox One/X, compatibility on Xbox Series S/X, PS4/Pro, compatibility on PS5, PC, Stadia)… while working from home.”

Essentially, because they’re trying to make the game as accessible as possible on every platform, they need to take their time to avoid making any mistakes.

Initially the game was set for release in mid-April, then mid-September and, more recently, mid-November, but now we have to wait another 43 days to get our hands on the highly anticipated game.

While another delay kind of sucks, according to a Bloomberg report, Cyberpunk 2077 staff have been working mandatory six-day weeks to get the game out as fast as possible. So, I personally won't be on their backs about it.

Surprisingly, most fans were quite sympathetic, tweeting that while they can’t wait for the game to come out, they understand how passionate the developers are and that a rushed game isn’t exactly a good game.

When (if, lol) the game eventually comes out you should be able to play it on pretty much any platform, both current and next-gen consoles.
