Ross Butler of "13 Reasons Why" and "Riverdale" Denies Involvement in Alleged Murder Plot

We apologise if this is your first time hearing about this very weird story.

Ross Butler, your former Riverdale fave and current 13 Reasons Why heartthrob, has asked the courts to drop a lawsuit alleging his involvement in an apparent murder plot.

In case you missed it (and yikes, where have you been?), singer Isaiah Silva filed a lawsuit against Courtney Love (yes, that Courtney Love; mother of his ex-wife, Frances Bean Cobain) back in June, claiming she arranged for men to break into his house in June of 2016.

He suggested they were there to steal back a guitar that belonged to the late Kurt Cobain.

Silva's lawsuit named Love’s manager, Sam Lutfi; Butler (Love's close friend); and chauffeur Yan Yukhtman, alleging they broke in, pretending to be police, in a supposed plan "to commit a home invasion, kidnap Silva, murder him, make it appear to be a suicide and recover the guitar".

Love previously told MTV Australia the lawsuit is "baseless and nonsense", and a source close to the family added, "Frances and the family are prepared to fight with a fury of unprecedented legal force and they will prevail."

The Blast has now obtained court documents recently filed by Butler, in which he alleges, "I never entered into a conspiracy or otherwise agreed to commit any crime against Silva. I never conspired with anyone else to murder or kidnap Silva… or take possession of a guitar that Silva claims Ms. Cobain gave to him as a gift."

He also claims he had "no communications with Defendant Courtney Love Cobain at any time concerning the purported events," and wants the claims against him dismissed.

The court documents do say, however, that Butler went to Silva’s home with Lutfi that evening, but were invited inside "amicably". Apparently, police were called during the night by another unnamed party, but Butler says the police exited without issue after speaking to everyone.

We’ll keep you posted, because we’re pretty sure this isn’t over.
