“Rick and Morty” Have a Song in the U.S. Charts, So Let’s Make It Happen In Australia

Rick and Morty in the charts 100 years. Forever Rick and Morty. Rick and Morty, making music all day long, forever.

After reinvigorating the black market for 20-year-old Maccas Szechuan sauce, Rick and Morty is now trying to breathe life back into the music industry.

(Good news for Liam Gallagher and his unemployed crew of tea-makers!)

On a recent episode, Rick and Morty listened to a slow jam titled “Terryfold” after enjoying a spiritually cleansing stay at an intergalactic spa. It was performed by the band Chaos Chaos, but featured the unmistakable (albeit significantly silkier) vocals of Justin Roiland, aka both Rick and Morty.

Check out the animated music video below. Language warning ahead.

Clearly the legions of American R&M fans wanted their own spiritual cleansing, swarming Spotify to stream the full song (which played during the credits of the ep, “Rest and Ricklaxation”).

In the two weeks since the episode aired, it has managed 1.1 million streams and been downloaded more than 3,000 times in the United States alone. That was enough to plant it at #33 on the Billboard Hot Rock Songs Chart. And in its first week, it debuted at #1 on the Comedy Digital Song Sales chart.

However, ARIA tells Student Edge that "Terryfold" is yet to chart in Australia. (Well, at least, our dimension’s version of Australia.)

Instead, the number one single Down Under is Sam Smith's "Too Good at Goodbyes", which doesn't mention Terryfolds even once.

Obviously, this is an outrage. You can right this multi-dimensional wrong by streaming it and telling your friends to do the same. Don’t be a pickle.
