Presidential Hopeful Kanye West Now Promising Us Some Kind of Giant Balloon Woman

Things are not getting better.

Kanye West is not doing so great these days, with his wife, Kim Kardashian West, asking for patience as her husband reckons with his latest period of ill health.

And yet, his quixotic presidential campaign in the United States proceeds apace, despite him having been booted off the ballot in Illinois due to thousands of invalid signatures, making his already impossible path to the White House even more, um, impossible.

Nonetheless, he continues to canvas Democratic and Republican voters and donors with a controversial, hard-right pitch to reintroduce prayer into schools and oppose both abortion and vaccinations (alongside left-leaning calls to reform policing, reduce student loan debt and pursue clean air and water). As recently as 7 August, he tweeted, "THE GOAL IS TO WIN" (all caps emphasis his). If this isn't 2020's worst storyline, that's only because there's so much competition for the title.

And yet, over the past 24 hours, he is back on what we once endearingly called "his bulls***", tweeting out photos of objectively terrible-looking clothing items that he either covets or has directly designed.

We never thought we’d say it, but we much prefer this Kanye:

 

Among all these photos are occasional tweets citing "Kanye 2020" or "2020 Vision", suggesting his presidential tilt is never far from his mind. So, do we consider this next project of his related to his music and fashion career, or part of his presidential platform?

That, as you likely already observed, is a giant inflatable woman in Yeezys, approximately the length of 10 people. Was it funded by West? Produced by Adidas? Delivered as a gift from Donald Trump?

We have so many questions, but as is the case with all things Kanye these days, the answer is probably far more depressing than we’d like to know.

Anyway, his most recently delayed album, Donda, has still not been released.
