President Obama Drops Mic On Donald Trump After Blistering Roast; Even Trump Says, "Nice Job"

It’s the kind of unexpected, effusive praise from The Donald that might blow your wig off.

Notoriously bad joke-taker Donald Trump has brushed off jibes from President Barack Obama, complimenting him on a “nice job” at the White House Correspondents Dinner.

Over the weekend, President Obama took the podium at the annual gala for the U.S. media (commonly referred to as ‘Nerd Prom’) and spent 30 minutes roasting Presidential contenders Trump, Ted Cruz, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders.

He also spent some of that time pondering what his days outside of the White House might look like (this was his eighth and final appearance at the event) and criticising his increasingly haggard appearance.

However, it was Trump who received the lion’s share of the barbs.

"They say Donald lacks the foreign policy experience to be president. But, in fairness, he has spent years meeting with leaders from around the world — Miss Sweden, Miss Argentina, Miss Azerbaijan," President Obama joked.

"And there's one area where Donald's experience could be invaluable and that is in closing Guantanamo, because Trump knows a thing or two about running waterfront properties into the ground."

Unfortunately, there was nothing quite as ingenious as the line Obama threw at Donald Trump in 2011 (literally the night before Osama Bin Laden's assassination), when Trump was in attendance at the height of his failed 'Birther' movement (to prove Obama wasn't born in America).

"All kidding aside, obviously we all know about your credentials and breadth of experience," he began.

"For example … no seriously, just recently, in an episode of Celebrity Apprentice, at the steakhouse, the men’s cooking team did not impress the judges from Omaha Steaks. And there was a lot of blame to go around, but you, Mr. Trump, recognized that the real problem was a lack of leadership, and so ultimately you didn’t blame Lil Jon or Meat Loaf, you fired Gary Busey. And these are the kinds of decisions that would keep me up at night."

Trump, who did not attend the 2016 event (Obama guessed he was home eating a Trump steak and Tweeting abuse at Angela Merkel), later told Fox News that Obama was “only joking.”

"Well, I think it was fine. It's a comedy. It's fine. I thought he did a nice job, it was good," he said.

"I wasn't there. But I thought he did a nice job."

Nonetheless, Obama felt pleased as punch with the searing of Trump, ending his stand-up set with a legit mic drop.
